Position Title: HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT- HRA

General Description/Primary Purpose
Assist management in staffing the store with hourly employees, by reviewing applicants, checking references, scheduling interviews, preliminary interviewing, new hire paperwork, orientation, training and related tasks.
Description of duties and tasks essential job functions.
  1. Guest service. Smile and engage every guest. Address all questions and inquiries by guests. If asked a question that they cannot answer, will locate the appropriate subject expert to further help the guest.
  2. Organization. Prepare new hire packets by manually pulling the necessary forms and inserting them into file folders. Keep personnel files in alphabetical order. Manually organize and when necessary order hiring and training materials.
  3. Pre-screening. Review the store's hiring needs with management. Review applications for completeness, work history and education. Call previous employers for references. Schedule interviews, notify applicant by telephone of appointment.
  4. Interviewing. Interview applicants in person using written manager or compete the final interview process by reviewing the written job description with the new hire. Obtain Director/Human Resource Manager approval for any reasonable accommodation requests.
  5. Orientation. Schedule orientation meetings. Call CIC, request ID number by CRT or telephone. Conduct orientation class. Assist employees with filling out new hire paperwork. Audit paperwork. Explain policies, benefits and answer questions. Distribute training booklet. Conduct a store tour, making introductions to staff and giving highlights of each area of the store. Forward required paperwork to area office via store mailbag.
  6. Training. Show training films. Assign new hire to a trainer. Follow up on new hire's progress with training booklet materials.
  7. Data Entry. Enter data in the SCARED system via the computer keyboard (employee new hire data, PCN status changes). Print all change reports and manually file in personnel files. Print transmission reports at the end of the week and manually file in the computer room.
  8. Loss Prevention. Observe people who attempt to steal merchandise, supplies, and/or money from the company. Upon observation follow store operating procedure guidelines and then notify management.
  9. Retention and execution of tasks. Able to learn and perform all essential job functions at an acceptable level with minimal supervision within 3 weeks.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Above average verbal and written skills in English or the primary language are necessary to accurately and efficiently communicate with management, applicants and area office in a professional, friendly manner.
  2. Sufficient reading, mathematical and organizational skills to order and inventory hiring/training supplies; put together files in a specific order and file them; schedule appointments and meet deadlines.
  3. Ability to operate the CRT, enter data in SCARED system and print data.
  4. Sufficient manual dexterity and visual skills to operate computer keyboard.
  5. Ability to operate VCR to show training videos.
