CVS Pharmacy Job Description

  Title:   Photo Lab Supervisor FLSA: Nonexempt

  GENERAL SUMMARY:
 
  To oversee all aspects of Photo Lab operation.
 
  ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
 
Management
  • work effectively with store management and store crew
  • effectively communicate information to and from store management
  • supervise lab employees through assigning, directing, and following up of all activities
Customer Service
  • assist customers with questions, problems, complaints
  • greet customers using eye's, hi's and helps at all times
  • handle all customer relations issues in accordance with company policy and promote a positive shopping experience for all CVS customers
  • develop professional relationship with customers to promote repeat sales
  • train photo lab employees to deal with customer relation issue by getting store management involved when lab supervisor is not present
  • maintain customer/patient confidentiality
Merchandise/Presentation
  • responsible for setting lab standards of quality, timeliness and efficiency in producing customer orders
  • merchandising area surrounding lab to promote additional sales of frames, albums, cameras, batteries and promotional items
  • maintain clean, neat, organized work area, external lab sales area
Shrinkage
  • assure print waste is kept to a minimum (standard = less than or equal to total prints produced)
  • properly train staff to insure against errors in chemical mixing and errors which could lead to contamination
  • monitor and react to signs of internal theft
  • maintain and react to EAS program
Operations
  • operate a cash register - includes cash, check and charge transactions, bagging merchandise
  • answer phones
  • open/close lab
  • operate film processor and printer processor
  • manage paper and chemistry stock:
    - maintain proper inventory levels
    - maintain storage areas in neat, organized fashion
    - transport materials from receiving area to storage area
    - change silver recovery column (must be able to lift 60 lbs. to height of 3 feet)
  • schedule daily/weekly/monthly equipment maintenance activities
  • maintain processor equipment:
    - transport materials from storage area to lab area
    - wash racks and drain tanks
    - change paper magazine
    - prepare and mix chemicals
    - analyze and react to control strip tests for lab chemistry
    - operate densitometer and plot graphs
    - identify and react to lab equipment repairs
    - create weekly employee schedule to meet customer service standards and budget requirements
    - prepare and report weekly sales/order summaries
    - verify hours from employee time summaries against photo lab schedule
    - summarize weekly shrink report, react to problems
    - maintain organized file of "refused" overnight orders for credit
    - ensure compliance with federal and state laws and OSHA regulations
    - in depth knowledge of film types, camera types and common problems
  • overnight photofinishing activities
Human Resources
  • determine staffing needs of lab to meet customer service standards
  • work with store management to meet staffing needs
  • encourage excellence in performance of photo lab crew through training, counseling, and recognition
  • coordinate efforts with store management to resolve employee conflicts
  • coordinate efforts with store management to complete employee reviews
  • execute certification process in training lab technicians
 
  MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  • make recommendations for improved lab performance and implement plans
  • work with store management to cross-train front store crew
  • assist front store crew
  • work stock for film and related departments on order day
  • work overstock for film department
