Swift Transportation

Maintenance Technician :

Department: Shop
 
Classification: 3M
 
Reports to: Shop Manager, Shop Supervisor, and / or Supervising Technician
 
Primary Purpose:
 
Essential Function:

    • Assist in the diagnosis and repairs of the tractor/trailer fleet
    • Assist in the completion of all necessary tags and work orders
    • Assist in the moving of equipment in/out of the shop and around the yard. Maintains a clean and safe work area
    • May also be designated as a "Foreman" but will also perform 3M functions
Skills: Computer keyboarding, valid drivers license, ability to read and understand repair manuals, filling out tags and repair orders
 
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED
 
Experience Required: Twelve months mechanical related experience in the transportation, heavy equipment or agriculture industry or graduation from an accredited Technical School with a certificate in a mechanical related field may be substituted for the High School Diploma or GED
 
Supervision Required: Normal
 
Supervision of Others: M and 1M
