Reports to: Shop Manager, Shop Supervisor, and I or Supervisor Technician
Primary Purpose: To perform through inspections and related repairs on equipment owned or operated by Swift Transportation as directed by supervisor
Essential Functions:
Assist in the inspections of the Tractor and Trailer fleet
Assist in the completion of all necessary tags and work orders
Assist in the moving of equipment in/out of the shop and around the yard
Maintains a clean and safe work area
Skills: Computer keyboarding, valid drivers license, ability to read and understand repair manuals, filling out tags and repair orders
Education Required: High School diploma or GED
Experience Required: Six months mechanical related experience in the transportation, heavy equipment agriculture industry or graduation from an accredited technical school with a certificate on a mechanical related field. A high school auto shop class may be substituted for this experience requirement
