Swift Transportation

Collection Agent :

Department: Recruiting
 
Reports To: Credit/Collection Manager
 
Primary Purpose: To collect student loan balances for Swift driving schools.
 
Essential Functions:

    • Maintain current and accurate account of all student loans. Review account information and analyze financial situation to implement solutions on past due accounts.
    • Mail collection letters and invoices regarding account overdue status.
    • Call on past due accounts to setup payment arrangements.
    • Process defaulted loans to be turned over to outside collection agency; correspond with attorney assisting with collection of outstanding balances when necessary.
    • Correspond with Credit/Collection Manager on status of loans in collections.
    • Seek assistance from Manager on problem accounts.
Education Required: High School diploma or GED, Bachelors Degree preferred.
 
Experience Required: One - two (1-2) years collection experience and/or transportation experience desirable.
 
Skills: Computer keyboarding, 1 a-key, organizational skills, and ability to read and understand maps and contracts.
 
Supervision Required: Normal
 
Supervision of Others: Act Lead person - nine (9) individuals.
 
Confidential Data: Customer contracts.
