Toys R Us Description - Storage Material Handling Operator

LOGISTICS POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Processor/Labeler
DEPARTMENT: Processing

General Description/Primary Purpose

Responsible for the correct labeling of products to be sent to stores

 Description of Duties and Tasks:

  1. Verify Cartons: Match and verify carton contents with correct label information.
  2. Lift Cartons: Bend over to pallet and lift carton to processing line. Ability to handle up to 300 cartons per hour.
  3. Label Carton: Label carton with correct destination label.
  4. Convey Carton: Push carton from processing table to conveyor line with carton label on top.
  5. Stack Pallets: Stack all empty pallets (45# each) onto processing line for removal.
  6. Cleaning: Throw away carton cuttings, labeling material, and maintain a neat and safe workstation.
  7. Maintain Safety Procedures: Maintain safe work practices as outlined in the standard operating procedures.
  8. Loss Prevention: Responsible for taking steps to detect common signs of theft and other security issues involving co-workers and to promptly communicate potential problems to DC Management.
  9. Performance: A processor/labeler must learn and perform all essential functions accurately with minimal direct supervision within 3 weeks after employment. Must adhere to all productivity requirements established for the position and/or department
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Physical Abilities:
  1. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication, necessary to verify pallet counts.
  2. Basic English writing skills in order to complete daily productivity sheets and complete inner receivers.
  3. Essential physical abilities required as per the following chart :

Walking Constant Flat and uneven surfaces from point to point
Standing Constant All work performed on feet
Sitting None
Stooping Frequent To pick up cartons at floor level
Reaching Frequent To a height of 6 feet
Lifting Frequent Up to 75#, upto 300 repetetions per hour
Pushing / Pulling Frequent Move hand jacks from place to place
Carrying Frequent Up to 25# , up to 10 feet
Climbing In-frequent Stairs to modules, in and out of equipment
Vision Constant Read labels, recognize boxes, safety in working.
Hearing Constant Safety signals
