WIA Fact of the Day
March 22, 2005
Question:
How realistic is the 10-year, 100% placement goal for states to meet?
Answer:
The 100% placement goal is, first and foremost, a goal. It's also a reflection of what workforce professionals, and participants, should aspire. Yet, in order to advance toward that goal, increasingly rigorous yearly performance milestones will be established as a part of WIA reauthorization. ETA will engage with the states in ongoing negotiations over performance and will devise incentive packages to encourage high performance. ETA will take each state's unique economic conditions into account during these negotiations, as we move together to improve the system on behalf of all job seekers.
