Dear Ms. Meek:

This is in reference to the Initial Determination on the audit of the program(s) funded under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA)/Workforce Investment Act (WIA) operated by the Proteus, Inc.

The audit report contains questioned costs and administrative findings. Enclosed is my Final Determination on the audit findings summarized as follows:

Audit Period: 7/01/00 through 06/30/01

Amount Questioned: $215,792

Amount Allowed: $194,942

Amount Disallowed: $20,850

Acceptance of Stand-in Costs: $20,850

Amount Subject to Debt Collection: None

No. of Uncorrected Administrative Findings: None

In accordance with 29 CFR 96.63, you have the opportunity to request an administrative hearing on the Final Determination. If you choose to request an administrative hearing, you should file your request with the Chief Judge, Office of Administrative Law Judges, U.S. Department of Labor, Suite 400-North, 800 K Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001-8002, with a copy to me in Room N-4720. The request should be sent by certified mail, “return receipt requested”, not later than 21 calendar days after receipt of this letter and Final Determination and should state specifically those sections of the Final Determination upon which a hearing is requested.


Copies of the Final Determination are being provided to the Office of Inspector General for Audit and to the Employment and Training Administration’s Division of Seasonal Farmworker Programs.
