The state plans to fund two initiatives:
- Pathways to Success by 21: Out-of-School Youth Initiative: This initiative will promote increased services (at Career Centers) to young adults enrolled in ABE programs; and
- Professional Development for ABE Providers and Youth-Serving Agencies: This initiative will allow for more professional development of adult education providers, youth agencies and occupational skill trainers so they can better address the needs of at-risk youth in programs.
- The grant will also support stronger case management for out-of-school youth; expanded “seat” capacity in GED programs or occupational skill training for at-risk out-of-school youth; and expanded regional capacity to coordinate, case manage and refer youth participants to community resources.
