National Center for Innovation and Career and Technical Education Launches Website; OVAE Seeks Comments on Perkins State Plan Guide
Apr 25, 2013
The Department of Education’s Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) reports that the National Center for Innovation and Career and Technical Education (NCICTE), funded in 2012 and authorized under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV), has launched its website at http://ctecenter.ed.gov. The site features proposed research by the center, related research in the CTE resource section, and online training modules that provide guidance for translating the Center’s studies into application at colleges, districts, or schools.

Among the many offered resources, the site provides "Building a System of High Quality Career Pathways: High School Transformation and District Supports."

The Department of Education today announced it is soliciting comments on the proposed extension of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 State Plan Guide.

This State Plan Guide requires eligible State agencies to submit a 6-year plan, with annual revisions as the eligible agency deems necessary in order to receive Federal funds. The Office of Vocational and Adult Education/Division of Academic and Technical Education program staff review the submitted state plans for compliance and quality.
