In September 2006, the YouthBuild Transition Act of 2005 was signed by the President, transferring administration of the YouthBuild program from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Department of Labor.

The Department will be hosting a two public meetings and a Webinar on the transfer. The purpose for meetings and the Webinar is twofold: to provide basic information on the legislative changes to the YouthBuild program and Department of Labor (DOL) program management of YouthBuild; and to collect feedback from the field on proposed programmatic and operational changes to the YouthBuild program upon its transfer from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to the Department of Labor. In addition to the Webinar interested stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide written comments.
