Preparing a candidate for contact with Allstate regarding a Claim Processing Specialist opening

When an Allstate recruiter receives a referral from the NBP for a claims processing specialist opening, the recruiter will review the resume submitted online at Allstatecareers.com where the candidate chooses State for the idenfier when they apply as this will ensure the right exposure and measures are taken for DOL candidates.

If the referred candidate possesses the minimum qualifications for the open position, the recruiter will contact the candidate by phone. The candidate will be asked a skills-based interview question and assessed on her/his oral communication skills. Good oral communication skills are necessary in order to be considered for positions at Allstate.

If the phone interview is successful, the candidate will be asked to complete an on-line application either from home (via the Internet) or at the Allstate hiring office. If, after the phone interview, the candidate is deemed not qualified for the position, he/she will be thanked for his/her time and released from the hiring process.

After completing the application, the candidate will be invited to the hiring office to take a pre-employment assessment (on-line and timed) dealing with background/experience and policies/procedures. The candidate must pass the assessment to proceed in the hiring process.

If the candidate qualifies on the assessment, s/he will be immediately interviewed by one of the Allstate hiring managers. The applicant will be asked three skill-based questions. If the candidate passes the interview, s/he will be considered for one of the open positions.

All job offers made by Allstate are contingent upon the candidate passing a drug screening and background check. When the drug and background checks are satisfactorily completed, a final offer of employment can be made and an employment start date determined.

The Claim Processing Specialist position requires the candidate to be flexible with her/his work hours. The office is open from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm. Shifts will be determined based on business need (call volume) and everyone will be asked to work an occasional Saturday (every four to six weeks). The dress code is business casual - comfortable but professional. No jeans or sneakers.
