The date of eligibility for benefits from Swift's health insurance plan will depend on your employment status on the date of hire. For experienced drivers, the date of eligibility is the first of the calendar month following 30 days (except February) of continuous full-time employment (the "Entry Date"). For inexperienced drivers (drivers that are assigned to a trainer), the date of eligibility is the first of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous employment (the "Entry Date"). The employee must be employed on the Entry Date for benefits to go into effect. Hourly employees are classified as full-time if you work 30 or more hours per week. Line drivers are classified as full-time if you drive 6,500 or more miles per month. Employees who are eligible to enter the health plan may, at their own expense, cover their eligible dependents. This cost is on an after-tax basis unless you participate in Swift's Cafeteria Plan.
Family coverage is available for $35.00 per week.
Dental Plan
Employee's dental premium costs $3.01 per week.
Employee and family premium is $9.91 per week.

A driver who stays with Swift from entry level through retirement becomes a real asset to the company, making contributions both as a service representative and a problem solver to the benefit of our customers.

The 401(K) Retirement Program: All drivers are eligible to participate in the company's 401(K) profit-sharing program after only six months of service. Your self-managed account can grow annually through matching contributions and a share of the company's profits to become a sizable nest egg by the time you're ready to retire. Employees' rights to Swift's contribution vest after only 5 years' employment. Since 1991, Swift has contributed more than $33 million to employees' 401(K) accounts.

Driver Recognition
Swift recognizes the importance of professional performance by its drivers and offers several achievement awards to show appreciation for drivers who go the extra mile for the company. Most notable are the "ATA Safety Award," the "Million Mile Safety Award," "Milestone Awards" and nomination to the Driver Advisory Board.
Recruiting Bonus
Just refer an experienced OTR driver (one year of recent driving experience required) to sign on with Swift. You'll get a bonus of $500.00 paid by a check for $100 each month for 5 consecutive months, as long as you and the referral stay with Swift. There's no limit to the number of rewards you can receive.
$1000 Longevity Bonus
Drivers who stay with Swift for 1 year receive a $1000 bonus, payable $500 after six months and $500 upon completion of first year.
Safety Awards
Swift has a Safety Awards Program for drivers that operate accident-free.
Driver of the Month
A Swift achievement pin, a t-shirt and $25.00 gift certificate is awarded to a driver who excels in all aspects of driving during the month.
Vacation Pay
Swift offers paid vacation to drivers on the following schedule:
1 year continuous service - 5 days vacation, $400 pay.
2 years continuous service - 10 days vacation, $800 pay.
5 years continuous service -15 days vacation, $1200 pay.
