Summary Information on 3rd Year of the Disability Employment Grantees

 

 

1)  Eleven Disability Employment Grants; $ total funding

 

Eleven multi-site grants which showcase innovative training options for people with significant disabilities within the One Stop system.

 

            Community Enterprises, Inc.

North Hampton, Massachusetts

 

  • Locations:  Massachusetts – (1)  Worcester, (2)  Boston; ConnecticutHartford, and New York
  • Funding:  $194,005      performance period 7/01/2004 – 6/30/2005

 

Community Enterprises, collaborating with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and CVS Pharmacy, trains jobseekers with disabilities in an area with growth potential – retail pharmacy and photo lab opportunities.  This project, operating in Worcester, Boston, and also Hartford, Connecticut, targets jobseekers with disabilities who are minorities, and a quarter of the participants receiving SSI/SSDI. Participants train at CVS/Pharmacy, TJX & Big Y Corporation while receiving paid work experience in the pharmacy/retail field. Initially trained as Pharmacy Associates, Crew Members, (Clerks and Cashiers) and Photo Lab Technicians, participants progress to Pharmacy Technicians, Lead Technicians, Shift Supervisors and Photo Lab Supervisors.
