14. RESPONSES TO TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

1. Does the "System" include a computer, a printer, a bar code printer, a telephone line (installation and monthly cost), a dial up modem or DSL connection? If any additional item, not mentioned here, was provided by the contractor.

a. The current contractor provided the bar code printers and the current reporting program and the program is the property of the current contractor. Therefore, you would need to provide your own test request and reporting program.

2. Will the new contractor have to replace these systems at all the job centers.

a. Yes. The new contractor will need to provide at a minimum an on-line ordering program, training, set-up and the printers. The current program is the property of the current contractor.

3. Can the job center use one of their own computers to go on line to retrieve the results from the lab website and enter the test request or do we have to provide new computer systems with ancillary supplies to do that, at each center.

a. The health and wellness centers have access to a computer system. If special equipment is needed, like bar code printers, then the contractor would need to provide it. Centers have only limited available time on the internet - so the program would need to be accessible to the centers and quick since centers do not have the time or staff to be on line for hours completing test requests or getting results.
