POPULATION SERVED:  An innovative program delivery approach for the employed, underemployed and unemployed individuals.  Individuals will be enrolled in targeted training programs:  Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Radiology Technician, Surgical Technician, Respiratory Therapist, Pharmacy Technician and Medical Assistant, which are in critical need within the Dallas Fort Worth area and part of the individual’s career advancement plan.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:  The targeted healthcare training available to program participants is both innovative and flexible to accommodate work schedules and reduce barriers to program participation.  Training will be provided on-site at the hospitals or at accessible school locations.  In addition to encourage continued program participation, mentors and job shadowing are essential components of the training program.

KEY PARTICIPANTS:  WorkSource for Dallas County, Work Advantage for Tarrant County, the Tarrant County Workforce Board and the DFW Hospital Council.
