Prospective Applicant Conferences for Business-Led H-1B Technical Skills Training Grants

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA)invites prospective applicants for Business-Led H-1B Technical Skills Training Grants to attend a series of conferences. The purpose of these conferences is to assist prospective applicants in preparing a quality and complete H-1B grant application.

On June 24, 2003, the U.S. Department of Labor, ETA announced the availability of approximately $50 million for Business-Led H-1B Technical Skills Training Grants under a new Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA) published in the June 24, 2003 Federal Register.

Three prospective applicant conferences will be held to:

  • Instruct prospective applicants on the goals and principles of the H-1B Technical Skills Training Grant Program,
  • Provide an overview of DOL policies and emphases,
  • Explain the required elements of a grant package and the grants review process, and
  • Present the experiences of successful H-1B grantees.

Eligible applicants for these grants will be business-led partnerships that consist of at least two businesses or a business-related nonprofit organization that represents more than one business. The partnership may also include any educational, labor, faith-based or community organization, or workforce investment board.

The conferences are scheduled as follows:

  • Chicago, IL: Hilton Chicago - July 23, 2003
  • Washington, DC: Mayflower Hotel - July 29, 2003
  • San Francisco, CA: The Pan Pacific Hotel - August 13, 2003

There is no registration fee for these conferences. You are encouraged, but not required to pre-register for the conference.
