KSA (Evaluation/rating/Ranking)Task Examples: For a GS-107-07 - Health Insurance Specialist

Ability to communicate orally.

TASK EXAMPLES:

Superior Level

Undergraduate course work directly related to speaking or interpersonal communications (e.g., speech fundamentals, professional and business presentations, human relations, negotiating skills, etc.) or experience in presenting technical, complex issues orally to a diverse audience or active membership in a speaking/communications organization, association or club such as Toastmasters, etc.

Average Level

Experience in day-to-day contact with peers, direct reports, supervisors (e.g., answering the telephones, greeting visitors, etc.).

Ability to communicate in writing.

TASK EXAMPLES:

Superior Level

Undergraduate course work directly related to writing (e.g., English Composition and Literature, Journalism, Technical/Research Writing, etc.) or experience in composing a variety of documents (e.g., letters, memoranda, reports, position papers, etc.) to explain technical information in layman terms.

Average Level

Experience in preparing nontechnical correspondence.

KSA (Evaluation/Rating/Ranking)Task Examples: For a GS-260-07 - Equal Opportunity Specialist

Skill in oral and written communication to clearly explain factual relationships, regulations, precedent decisions, and the application of regulations to facts.

TASK EXAMPLES:

Superior Level

Experience in interviewing persons to obtain strictly factual information of a routine or repetitive nature, and ability to produce an accurate written report of the interview.

Satisfactory Level

Experience in communicating with a variety of people in all levels of the organizational structure, orally and in writing.

Minimally Acceptable Level

Experience preparing general correspondence and communicating with all levels of management.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and all levels of management officials.

TASK EXAMPLES:

Superior Level

Experience working with employees and various levels of management officials on projects or special task forces requiring immediate attention to effect a resolution.

Satisfactory Level

Experience working with senior specialist to accomplish EEO project goals, or to resolve problem situations.

Minimally Acceptable Level

Experience working with peer groups on special projects or task forces.
