  WIA Incentive Grant Summaries - PY 2004

  Minnesota $699,205

The funds will be used to invest in two initiatives that promote collaboration, cooperation and alignment among the partner programs and agencies:

  • A data collection system for the Minnesota Adult Basic education program, linking to the State’s federal reporting system;
  • Advance skills sector initiatives in Minnesota: A state model will be developed which will incorporate the following design principles: encourage/provide incentives for regional partnerships; support regional collaboration across multiple partner and delivery systems for industry analysis, planning and implementation; target specific critical industries; focus on occupations in which workers can achieve self-sufficiency, and occupations leading to them; allow flexibility so programs can meet industry and worker needs; and establish accountability measures designed to ensure that investments generate intended outcomes.
