WIA Incentive Grant Summaries - PY 2004

The State plans to invest incentive funds in five initiatives:

  • Replace the VCNet MIS with America’s Job Link Alliance, a Web based, one-stop workforce development system;
  • Pilot two career and technical education programs in a level 5 correctional facility;
  • Strengthen assessments and coordination at One-stops;
  • Implement the use of handhelds to document students goals and outcomes for ease of transference to the statewide database; and
  • Offer free GED to increase learning outcomes for job placement.
