West Virginia $685,054
The funds are to be used in the following ways:
- Enhancing the Advantage GED Distance Education program by extending literacy services to areas of the state that are rural and hard to reach using the traditional center-based programs. The Adult Basic Education (ABE) programs will be delivered to non-comprehensive Workforce West Virginia centers and additional Career Technical Education Centers;
- Through the Workforce Investment Interagency Collaborative Team, increasing collaboration between and among the state agencies directly involved in workforce investment activities;
- Developing a fully integrated workforce system that delivers comprehensive employment, training and related services to job seekers and employers; and
- Facilitating team integration and systems building at the upcoming WORKFORCE West Virginia Annual Conference 2006.
