| The number of individuals served by each of the WIA programs (Adults, Dislocated Workers, Older Youth and Younger Youth) increased from Program Year (PY) 2001 to PY 2002. In PY 2001, the WIA programs served 1,110,009 people. This figure increased to 1,273,012 in PY 2002, but declined to 1,178,316 in PY 2003, and then fell to 1,120,762 in PY 2004. There was a further decline to 1,028,607 in PY 2005. It should be noted that while the overall number of people served has declined between PY 2002 and PY 2005, the number of WIA Adults served rose from 441,795 to 448,774 between PY 2004 and PY 2005. (see Table 1 below). |
