Region 6 Means Business!

National Business Leadership Partnerships
North/North Central Idaho

PARTNER SITE: Maine Career Center System

OVERVIEW: PANHANDLE/REGION I LEWISTON JOB SERVICE /REGION II ONE STOP:

Two of Idaho’s six local areas will participate, with a particular interest in engaging the business community in the local work. They are looking for more effective marketing plans and business awareness strategies to fulfill their own long term goals. Also useful would be stories from other areas who “return to the office and research solutions/answers to items of primary interest identified by company visited”. Recent changes in the local economy include reduced funding for education, meaning significant education layoffs as well as reduced training opportunities. Each area has increased its market share of health care job orders and intends to continue that effort; the recent formation of the North Idaho Manufacturers’ Assn may provide increased market share in the manufacturing industry. There are mixed messages on construction but residential and remodel continues to look promising. They hope to focus on small to medium rather than large businesses.
