Excluded LWIAs: If a Local Workforce Investment Area is marked with an asterisk (*) it had a small population and could not be tabulated separately due to Census concerns about confidentiality. Within each affected state, all excluded LWIAs are pooled into a "Balance of State" tabulation. Names: The same LWIA is often known by different names. If you are unsure about which service area your county or place belongs in, consult the Definitions of local Workforce Investment Areas file for State of VIRGINIA .
