Trade Act Programs: North American Free Trade Agreement - Transitional Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA)

Once a petition has been filed and the U.S. Department of Labor has certified eligibility, qualified workers may apply for a variety of reemployment assistance. Workers must meet individual eligibility criteria for each of the services outlined below. Reemployment services have deadlines for application. Workers should apply for assistance as soon as possible following the certification of a petition.

If workers are not satisfied with the determination of an individual application, the same appeal rights apply as are provided under their State Unemployment Compensation Law. The determination notice received after filing an application will explain appeal rights and time limits for filing an appeal application.
