ETA Announces "Recovering America's Youth Summits" for Chicago (November 17-18) and Dallas (December 1 - 2)

The Employment and Training Administration has announced the opportunity for the workforce community to attend one of two Recovering America's Youth Summits in November and December.

In 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) invested $1.2 billion in WIA Youth Activities. The Recovering America's Youth Summit will address how to use Recovery Act funds to develop and strengthen programs and service delivery systems that provide employment opportunities for youth in emerging industries.

By attending the Summit you will also:

  • Learn about the lessons learned from the 2009 summer employment programs

  • Focus on building the capacity of state and local areas to serve older out-of school youth, ages 18-24, in year-round activities

  • Learn about strategies for creating green career pathways and pathways in other emerging industries

  • Interact with experts and colleagues from your state and local areas
