Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao announced on June 25 that the Department has awarded 35 communities with $204 million to continue successful local outreach programs for at-risk youth. At the annual meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Secretary noted that "these grants are early intervention funds to build our 21st century workforce."
