What's New in Workforce Investment Archive: Headlines (2002)
The Office of Vocational and Adult Education is inviting applications for new awards for its Community Technology Centers program. The purpose of the Community Technology Centers program is to assist eligible applicants to create or expand community technology centers that will provide disadvantaged residents of economically distressed urban and rural communities with access to information technology and related training. A total of $15,000,000 is available for distribution. OVAE sets the estimated range of awards between $75,000-$300,000, with an average size of $180,000. OVAE estimates that 83 awards will be made. Applications are due July 19, 2002. Potential applicants are encouraged to send a brief notification of intent to submit by June 28, 2002.
