Statement of U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor Emily Stover DeRocco On the Avondale Mills TAA Petition Certification
   
WASHINGTON – U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training Administration Emily Stover DeRocco issued the following statement on the Avondale Mills Trade Adjustment Certification:

“The Department of Labor announces the certification of Trade Adjustment Assistance/Alternative TAA for workers affected by closures of Avondale Mills plants in Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Avondale Mills workers can go to their respective states to apply for benefits. Benefits may include re-training, temporary partial wage replacement, credits for up to 65 percent of qualified health insurance premiums, possible wage subsidies for workers over 50 years old, and other services. Each state will determine the benefits for which workers qualify.”
