There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

Iowa’s Career Pathways Initiative: Webinar Now Available

On November 22, 2013, Aspen Institute’s Workforce Strategy Institute facilitated a webinar for workforce development and career pathways professionals in Iowa as part of the state’s new career pathways initiative. The webinar,Career Pathways: Experiences from the Field, provides an overview of the sector approach and career pathways strategies. Participants heard about the process for designing effective pathways, the role of businesses and employers in pathway development and how to engage these stakeholders in the process, as well as innovations in curriculum, support services and more. Presenters on the webinar brought a wealth of experiences in designing and implementing career pathways, sharing their experiences, challenges and successes.
