There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

For more information about how to recognize spam calls, please reference the IRS site about recognizing these imposter calls: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/how-to-know-its-really-the-irs-calling-or-knocking-on-your-door-0

Administration of State and Local Technology-Based Learning (TBL) Surveys to State Workforce Agency Administrators and Local Workforce Investment Board Executive Directors
Mar 1, 2013

The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has issued Training and Employment Notice 21-12.

The TEN advises State Workforce Agency Administrators and LWIB Executive Directors that the agency has initiated a study of Technology-Based Learning (TBL). The primary purpose of these surveys is to gather up-to-date information on TBL opportunities and usage at the state and local levels, and factors that influence its adoption and design in the public workforce system.

The TEN specifically addresses these issues:

  • How will Respondents Access the Survey?
  • When are the Responses to the Surveys Due?
  • What are the Benefits of this Study to the Public Workforce System?

Abt Associates, the contractor, will share highlights from the final report at a comprehensive briefing during summer 2013. Upon approval of the final report for public dissemination, the final report, and an abstract of this publication, will be posted on the ETA Research Publication Database website.
