There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

For more information about how to recognize spam calls, please reference the IRS site about recognizing these imposter calls: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/how-to-know-its-really-the-irs-calling-or-knocking-on-your-door-0

ETA to Host Youth Forum in Atlanta (June 17-19)
May 12, 2014
The Employment and Training Administration will conduct a Youth Forum in Atlanta, Georgia on June 17 - 19. With the support and collaboration of states, local workforce investment areas, and discretionary grantees, this Forum is designed to promote and share best strategies to assist the hard-to-serve, and disconnected youth to help them gain the skills that are necessary for them to successfully participate in job-driven training programs. The Forum will focus on proven strategies from regional and national practitioners for serving disconnected youth, removing barriers, and creating career pathways to help them transition to adulthood.

State-level youth coordinators, local workforce investment area staff serving youth, youth council members and staff, youth service providers (including private non-profit and for-profit providers), community-based organizations, Reintegration of Ex-Offender grantees (RExO), and other youth service staff and entities are encouraged to attend.
