Budget Process

The Federal Budget Process

The process in which the federal budget is proposed, debated and eventually made law involves a specific timeline. This timeline follows the fiscal, as opposed to the calendar year. This process is made up of certain steps, that include ETA's budget request to the Department of Labor, DOL's budget request to the Office of Management and Budget, which makes a proposal to the President and Congress, as well as many participants from the Executive and Legislative branches of the Federal government.
