There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

Section 502(e) Training and Placement With Private Business Concerns

INSTRUCTIONS FOR A SECTION 502(e) PROJECT APPLICATION

Not less than   (number)   current SCSEP participants and new applicants, who meet the current SCSEP eligibility criteria will be recruited and trained. Training and job placement will be in the following occupations:

Placements of Section 502(e) participants will be sought primarily in in positions in the private for profit and nonand non-profit sectors that are not available normally through the community service portion of this grant. These jobs may involve different kinds of work modes, flex-time, job sharing, or reduced physical exertion. Projects will emphasize projects involving second-career training, particularly in growth areas. To the extent practicable, projects will be coordinated with activities under the Workforce Investment Act.

Training will be provided through the following means : Check (check those that apply):

(2) OJT On-the-Job-Training
(3) Private Sector Work Experience
(4) A combination of any of the above

Funds will be used in a manner that assures that the overall expenditure of funds under the entire grant results in at least 75 %percent of the funds being used for participant wages and benefits and no more than 15 %percent is used for administrative costs.
