System-Building Grant Opportunities Announced

The Department's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) announced the availability of two
system-building grant opportunities in the July 20 FEDERAL REGISTER.
1. Customized Employment Grant Program for
People with Disabilities
A total of $3.5 million is available to award up to seven competitive grants for strategic planning
and implementation activities designed to improve the employment and career advancement of people
with disabilities through enhanced availability and provision of customized employment services
through the One-Stop delivery system. Local boards are eligible to apply.
Closing date: August 20.
2. High School/High Tech Start-Up Program for Youths with Disabilities
A total of $400,000 is available to award eight competitive grants in the amount of $50,000 each.
Local boards -- as well as not-for-profit organizations established under section 501(c)(3) of the
Internal Revenue Code. public secondary educational institutions; Job Corps centers (no fee/profit
allowed), and local government entities -- are eligible to apply.
