There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

ALMIS Seeks Nationwide Employer Database to Benefit One-Stop Delivery System

The State of Iowa --- on behalf of the Americas Labor Market Information System (ALMIS) Database Maintenance Consortium --- has released a Request for Proposal to select a qualified vendor who will be responsible for providing and updating a non-confidential nationwide database of employers. The database will be made available through standalone, client-server and Internet systems. This contract will replace the expiring contract between Maine and InfoUSA and ensure that non-confidential employer data remains available to the workforce system.

A vendors conference will be held on February 25, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois at the Hilton Chicago OHare Airport Hotel, at 1:30 PM CST. Vendor proposals are due to the Department of General Services Purchasing Division, Level A, Hoover State Office Building, Des Moines, Iowa, no later than 3:00 P.M. CST on March 22.
