| SUBJECT | SCSEP Technical Assistance Guide |
PURPOSE: To transmit a copy of a technical assistance guide (TAG), Placing Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Enrollees in Unsubsidized Employment: A Handbook for SCSEP Grantees.
2. REFERENCES: None.
3. BACKGROUND: The TAG was developed by Support Services International, Inc. (SSI) through a study of the SCSEP and 502(e) programs. The process involved discussion with the Department of Labor staff, on-site interviews of SCSEP and section 502(e) grantees and their staff, employers, participants, and other organizations. The TAG describes successful approaches and "Best Practices" identified in the study.
4. DIRECTIVE: Grantees are encouraged to consult and use the TAG for guidance in operating their programs.
