Laid-Off Workers

The ETA provides access programs and services for workers who have been laid off, or are anticipating a lay off. The information is also useful for employers and workforce development professionals.   • Laid Off Workers - the Dislocated Workers website provides information for workers, employers and workforce development professionals involved in lay offs


  • Lay Offs from Trade - the Trade Act Programs: TAA and NAFTA-TAA provide job training and support programs available to assist workers who lost their jobs because of imports from or shifts in production to other countries.


  • Response to Lay Offs - Rapid Response Services help employers and workers learn about their rights and responsibilities after a mass lay off


  • Unemployment Insurance - the Office of Workforce Security provides information on unemployment insurance
