Trade Act Programs: Workers
If you work for a company that is forced to consider laying off employees, or is restructuring due to increased imports or shifts in production to Canada or Mexico, you may be eligible for a variety of reemployment services and assistance available to such workers. You may qualify for assistance under the Trade Act programs if you have lost your job due to a plant closing or a layoff. Certain people who are not employed by companies, such as family farmers, may also be eligible for assistance.
There are a variety of Reemployment Services and assistance available to you as a Trade-affected worker. You can contact your One-Stop Career Center, or your State Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and North American Free Trade Agreement-Transitional Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA) Coordinators if you have specific questions.
These pages are designed and available to help you understand your options.

If you are NOT eligible for Trade Act programs, you may still be eligible for other forms of assistance. Further information can be obtained in the Dislocated Worker website.
